The Capon Bridge Methodist Episcopal church, South was established in 1871 with services held in a local school on the Will Hutchinson property. The preset day church was built in 1884 on land donated by Mr. William Smith. The donated church property was large enough for a parsonage, which was built in 1891. The "new", parsonage, was built in 1978.
After merging with the United Brethren Church in 1968, the church became the Capon Bridge United Methodist Church. Each week the choir meets on Wednesday evenings at 6, to practice for Sunday morning services and carious community gatherings. Sunday School is at 10 every Sunday and services at 11. The United Methodist Women meet once a month for meetings. We also help with the local food pantry and clothes closet. CBUM Church join in a unique comong together with other community churches to take part in Bible School, Thanksgiving and Easter services. We invite anyone to join us! God's blessings to you!! |
